Gross Exposure

A fund's gross exposure describes the fund's total exposure before netting off any long and short positions. So for example if the fund is 70% "long" and 40% "short" then the fund would be 110% gross invested (while on a net basis the fund would be 30% net "long").

Synonyms: Total exposure, Total positions, Notional value
