Tied Agent

A tied agent is a financial adviser who is 'tied' to selling managed fund products from a single company. The adviser may be an employee of a bank, for example, and thus required to both sell the bank's own products, while also giving advice. Other examples include advisers or brokers who work for wealth management and insurance companies, or who are tied to them via distribution agreements.

Synonyms: Aligned adviser, Owned adviser, Tied adviser
