A Z-Share is a class of mutual fund shares that cater for employees of the fund management company. These shares may comprise part of the employee's compensation package e.g. they may be paid their bonus in z-shares, or they may have the option of purchasing z-shares with the fund management company matching some of their purchase (e.g. the employee buys 100 shares, the firm then gives the employee an additional 100 shares).
