The additional, or minimum additional investment is the lowest value or amount permitted by the fund manager for an existing investor to top up their investment by. For example an investor may hold $10,000 in a mutual fund, the rule may be that minimum additional investment is $500, whereas the minimum initial investment might be $5,000.
