CAC 40 Index

The CAC 40 Index is a free-float adjusted market cap weighted index based on the top 40 companies of the 100 highest market cap companies traded on the Paris Bourse (Euronext Paris). The CAC takes its name from the early exchange system; The Cotation Assistee en Continu (or Continuous Assisted Quotation). The index is maintained by Euronext.
