The NYSE, or New York Stock Exchange (Now part of the NYSE Euronext group), is the oldest stock exchange in America and the largest stock exchange in the world by market capitalization. The NYSE is operated by NYSE Euronext (formed from the 2007 merger of NYSE and Euronext). The NYSE is one of the only stock exchanges that still runs floor trading, which takes place at its iconic headquarters at 11 Wall Street. The main indexes which include stocks on the NYSE (as well as some on the NASDAQ and other exchanges) are the Dow Jones Industrial Average (mostly NYSE stocks), and the broader S&P 500.
