Stock Exchange

A stock exchange or share market is an organized facility that lists and quotes the shares of public companies, facilitates the trading of those shares, and disseminates data on that trading. Stock markets are at the center of modern finance, providing access to capital for companies and access to investments for investors and portfolio managers. Some of the largest stock exchanges in the world currently include NYSE Euronext, NASDAQ OMX, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Tokyo Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Exchange. The ETF and ETN managed investment product vehicles are an examples of fund types which trade on an exchange in a similar manner to shares in companies.
